KEPT BY HIS POWER - 1 PETER 1:5

The Bible makes it clear that everyone will live forever...the only question is where?  The answer to that is based on our decision about Jesus Christ..to believe in Him or to reject Him.  With eternity in the balances, no other decision is as important.

Problem:

Simply stated, our sin separates us from God.  We are quilty by association with the human race (imputed sin).  We are afflicted with a natural tendency to sin (inherited sin).  And on our own we do wrong things (personal sin) that separates us from Him.  Without God's intervention, we would face an eternity away from Him.

Romans – “For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God … ”

1 John 1:8 – “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.”

Result of Sin:

Romans 5:12 – “Wherefore, as by one sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for all have sinned.”

We cannot keep the Commandments:

James – “For whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

We are not saved by doing good things.  We cannot be saved by trying to keep the commandments.  Although we are incapable of solving this problem, God isn't.  He took the initiative and sent His Son to die on the cross in our place.  When we believe in Jesus as our personal Savior, that substitution pays for our sins (redemption)...and satisfies God (propitiation)....changes us (reconcilation)...and gives us His righteousness (imputation).  Then God declares that we are righteous (justification).

Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God-Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Jesus Christ is the only Solution:

Galations - “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree.”

John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 3:3- "Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God"

Do you want to accept Jesus as your Savior?  The decision is for you to make, no one can make it for you.

Romans 10:9 – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

If you choose to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior then pray in your own words using this sample prayer...."Dear Jesus, I know that I'm a sinner, if I died now in my sin, I would go to hell. You died on the cross and shed your blood to pay for the penalty of my sin.  Right now, by faith, I am trusting You, and only You, as my personal Savior.  In Jesus' name.  Amen."
