Gambling is and continues to be a growing problem in the United States. From office raffles, state lotteries, sports betting, and to casinos, lives are being destroyed by those who are involved in these activities. There is also a high incidence of alcohol abuse and depression associated in the lives of those who gamble. The bible teaches that all of our needs are met in the Lord.
The Bible teaches that gambling is a sin. Sins associated with gambling are covetousness (1 Corinthians 5:10-11), greed (Ephesians 5:1-3), love of money (Ecclesiastes. 5:10, 1 Timothy 6:10), not loving our neighbor (Matthew 22:39), lust and licentiousness (1 John 2:16, 2 Corinthians 12:20-21), lack of trust in God's ability to provide (Luke 12:15, Hebrew 13:5), it robs money from families (2 Thessalonians 3:12) and it is addicting (Romans 8:21; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galations 5:1, 3; 1 Peter 2:16, 2 Peter 2:19).
